Marsh Marigolds Below Mt. Baldy
Beneath all the flowers was a slow but constant trickle of water coming from the side-slope aquifers below the snowfields of Mt. Baldy. The winter of 2008-09 saw an above average snowpack and that was followed by record spring rains. The result: virutally all the mountainous aquifers in the central and southern Rockies were fully recharged and overflowing giving us one of the best wildflower blooms in recent history.
