Remembering Sam
Remembering Sam
Forgive the indulgence but this is a picture of my Border Collie of nearly 14 years. Sam accompanied me everywhere I went from day one until the last days of November 2012 when he succumbed to complications from cancer.

I had the summer of our lives planned for July and August when we planned on spending those two months in Colorado based in Crested Butte. All was "Go" for our trip until he was diagnosed with cancer only a week before our planned departure. He spent the summer and fall undergoing chemo which he tolerated exceptionally well and which extended his life several months beyond the original prognosis - and they were good months for Sam.

In the end, the "Summer With Sam" was spent doing the things we normally did and that was good - very good.
