Sneffels Range in the Clouds
Behind all those swirling clouds is Mt. Sneffles and the Sneffels Range. Ninty-nine point nine percent of photographs taken here are labeled as "Dallas Divide". Not the case, a divide is the same as a pass, a location on the road where the road or trail is at its highest point. The location of Dallas Divide is about 100 yards directly behind where this photo was taken and was originally named Dallas Divide by the Rio Grande Southern Railroad. Nobody takes pictures of Dallas Divide - it's asphalt with a painted white stripe and traffic.
