No, this is not an amateurish erotic description but rather the photographic capture of a natural phenomenon called "The Belt of Venus".
The Belt of Venus can occur at both sunrise and sunset and is characterized by the pink band of light in the sky directly above the dark blue band which is actually the earth's shadow. The pinkish color is caused by a scattering of the red light particles present at sunrise.
All the astronomy aside, the earth's shadow and the Belt of Venus provided a beautiful early morning background for East Beckwith Peak and the immense aspen forest below.
