This and the preceding vertical version may look like an "easy get" but not quite so. This beautiful cluster of wildflowers was on a ledge about 15 feet above me. It looked easy enough to climb those 15 feet but the rock was "rotten" and filled with sand, gravel and dirt which didn't make for either an easy or safe hold. This was especially true considering three very important factors: I was holding my camera and tripod in one hand, was climbing and holding on to whatever was available with the other and, most importantly, my age. It's more than a wee bit more difficult to do things like this than it was just a few years ago. Nevertheless, I did make it, hung on and managed to get two versions of thise beautiful wildflowers with heavy fog silently sliding over the hoodoos in Yankee Boy Basin. A win for the old guys.
