Sad Story - Part 2 +
This house was probably one of the finest on the Schoodic Peninsula in its day but, sadly, that day has gone by. Until very recently, the house was occupied by its 90 year old owner who has since been hospitalized. Over the years friends and neighbors have tried to help her with the upkeep but that came to an end when a friend fell through the badly deteriorating roof while trying to patch it one more time. The house has now been sold and will be razed after its owner comes home from the hospital to gather her belongings. Very sad. If you enlarge the image, you can see the extent of the deterioration. Actually seeing the house makes it almost unbelievable that it was still being lived in.
