Doug Beezley Photography | Starry Nights | Midnight Mud

Midnight Mud
Midnight Mud
We started the night out on the early side and ended up in an area of mud cracks which were to be our foreground element photographing the setting Moon with Venus immediately below.

After only a couple of compositions a very unusual event occurred that became the highlight of the workshop - a sighting of the Aurora Borealis over Death Valley. We quickly forgot about mud and moon and turned our cameras to the north as you will see in the next image. WOW!!!

The line of lights on the horizon on the left is Stovepipe Wells - our headquarters for the workshop.
