"In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.."
Signal Mountain Summit
Because of the partially cloudy skies closer to Jackson, we traveled to Signal Mountain about 25 miles north to try to find more favorable conditions and settled for the summit of Signal Mountain near the north end of Grand Teton National Park.
Signal Mountain is not a particularly tall nor spectacular uprising but is about 1,000 feet above the valley floor and the daytime views of the Tetons, Jackson Hole, and the Snake River are well worth the drive.
There is little foreground interest in this image but the Milky Way and its core was very apparent. The ambient light or glow on the right is from Jackson.
