"...where no man has gone before..."
Oxbow Bend
This is the Milky Way at Oxbow Bend of the Snake River on the far north end of Grand Teton National Park.
Oxbow Bend is a favored moose habitat and there is hardly a day they aren't seen browsing in the shallows. It is also a favored location for Trumpeter Swans and pelicans and the area is known habitat for Grizzly Bears.
The ambient light on the left is Jackson, WY (30 miles) and on the right Driggs, Idaho (30 miles) and Idaho Falls, Idaho (80 miles). The high mountain visible on the right of the Idaho ambient light is Mt. Moran – an iconic mountain in Great Teton NP. This is a six exposure panoramic.
