Grand Teton National Park and the surrounding Jackson Hole area including the town of Jackson are among my favorite places to spend a day, a weekend, a week or even longer. Jackson is a bustling "mountain" town complete with world-class art galleries featuring photography, painting, sculpture and every other form of artistic expression. The accommodations are as great as your budget will allow and the restaurants often extraordinary.
But what brings me back time after time is Grand Teton National Park itself which is visually dominated by Grand Teton Peak, an abundance and variety of wildlife and human historic context in the form of the structures and history of Mormon Row, Cunningham Ranch and other historic attractions.
And, not to be overlooked are the wildflowers, spring creeks, riparian areas, river bottoms, lakes and, of course, the Snake River which I have fished and floated many times.
The crowning touch of this workshop was the other participants - all are friends who I have gone with to photo workshops in the past. They joined me from New Jersey, Michigan and Georgia. What could be better than going to one of your favorite locations with friends, and learning new skills taught by great professionals who are also friends? Nothing!
I hope you enjoy your short journey in this gallery which was created during a workshop in Grand Teton National Park in late June (actually snowed on us - wasn't much but it was snow and became a great talking point) and early July. The workshop was led by David Kingham and Jennifer Renwick who, once again, over-delivered in terms of value, fun, professional knowledge, skill and friendship.
