Doug Beezley Photography | Colorado Wildflowers - Summer 2009 | Snowy Bittercress

Snowy Bittercress
Snowy Bittercress
American Basin is a truly imposing basin and probably one of the most prolific wildflower locations in Colorado if not, the US. The stream is the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River and its headwaters are in the upper reaches of American Basin. Look carefully and you'll see a beautiful waterfall in the distance. There was still snow around the waterfall and we watched a marmot sunning himself next to the snowbank. All was in perfect harmony. The white flowers are Snowy Bittecress.
