Venus and Zodiacal Light at Zabriskie Point
Venus and Zodiacal Light at Zabriskie Point
After a beautiful sunrise at Mesquite Flat Dunes, some critique and post processing instruction and a couple of hours at an officially unnamed location we referred to as "Mud Flats", we ended our day at famed Zabriskie Point where we photographed the zodiacal light surrounding Venus. This is believed to be light reflection on dust particles in the Solar System known as cosmic dust. High in the sky you can see the Andromeda galaxy cluster. It was a stunning night. The snow-capped mountain on the left horizon is Telescope Peak, the highest point in Death Valley National Park rising 11,331 feet above the lowest point in Death Valley. Telescope Peak is part of the Panamint Mountain Range which borders the Mojave Desert.
