Dantes View & Badwater Basin
The elevation is 5,475 feet above sea level, the temperature was 21 degrees and the wind was gusting enough to push the wind chill temperature considerably below 21 but the view and the sunrise was a "10". Below is Badwater Basin, the lowest spot in North America (282 feet below sea level) and the snow-capped peak across Badwater Basin is Telescope Peak (11,049 ft), the highest point in Death Valley National Park. By the way, Death Valley NP is the largest national park in the continental US at nearly 3.4 million acres. Largest, hottest, driest, and lowest - all superlatives claimed by Death Valley.
