The Journey to Monhegan Island
Our journey was not only unpleasant as several of us yielded to sea sickness but also dangerous. Sea swells that had been forecast at 4 - 6 feet turned out to be 12 - 14 feet. Several times the good ship "Hardy" actually launched into the air as it tried to traverse the swells and ensuing troughs. On at least one occasion, the Captain completely shut the engines down - don't know why; assumed (hoped) he knew what he was doing. This was NOT fun!!! And, it rained like crazy as you can see in the image above.
