So, there we were, in Badwater Basin at 0-dark-thirty (3:20 am) and the Milky Way has perfectly positioned itself over the mountains. This panoramic consists of 14 separate exposures stitched together to make this image. If printed in the original file size it would be almost 10 feet wide! Untold is the "rigorous" hike to and from this location. Not fun.

This is a good one to enlarge to see more of the sky detail as well as the salt polygons in the foreground. As famed astronomer Carl Sagan always said, "there are billions and billions of stars" out there. Probably, that many grains of salt in Badwater Basin, too.
