Milky Way at Rock Cut
Milky Way at Rock Cut
Milky Way at Rock Cut in Rocky Mountain National Park.

On paper this seemed like a good location - the iconic "Rock Cut" formation near Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. The location seemed ideal because we would be able to frame Longs Peak with the rock cut formation and the Milky Way would would flow out of the rock cut frame. In reality, not such a good choice with the ambient light of the Denver metro area and the front range cities blowing up the sky. And, Longs Peak was so far away it almost doesn't show up in the image.
